This acoustic door is a sound insulated hollow metal steel door set built as a single swing hinged leaf in a matched pressed steel frame, designed for function rooms, meeting rooms and similar spaces where sound control matters. It is fire rated from 20 minutes up to 3 hours, conforming to or exceeding SDI/HMMA industrial standards and fire tested and certified with UL and Intertek/Warnock Hersey, complying with UL 10(b), UL 10(c) and NFPA 252. The doorset achieves its acoustic performance through a precise sealing structure: a wide elastic sealing strip runs continuously along the whole frame stop and is compressed by the closing leaf, forming an unbroken compression line on the head and both jambs so that the gap between leaf and frame is properly closed. The leaf is the honeycomb core construction, giving a light but flat and stable face, and it also carries a fixed steel louver panel set into a neat rectangular opening with the blades angled inward, so the room stays ventilated without losing the seal around the perimeter. Standard construction includes 18 and 20 gauge steel door skins, a 16 gauge flush top channel, a 16 gauge inverted bottom channel, a standard seamless edge, a 20 gauge dust cover, 7 gauge hinge reinforcement, 12 gauge closer reinforcement and 14 gauge lock reinforcement, on a 1 3/4 inch standard leaf thickness, finished in a rust inhibitive primer to ANSI/SDI 250.10 and top coated in dark muted green, with plenty of optional colours available, and the doorset is water resistant and impact resistant. It is supplied with five knuckle stainless steel hinges, a lever handle with keyed cylinder and an overhead closer, is available with an equal cylinder key system, and can be installed in masonry or drywall openings.
